Franciszka Voeltz is a person who works with people – the human experience as their medium. Franciszka’s practice centers on creating space for connection, vulnerability, exchange, empowerment, and discovery—both of oneself and of each other and the world around them. These moments unfold in the workshops and retreats Francsizka facilitates, through dialogue with poem patrons, in expeditions they co-lead, and in collaborative projects that use stories to build community. From hosting all-ages show-and-tells to a collective love poem to the universe, Voeltz’s work celebrates the shared beauty of storytelling. Franciszka loves seeing other people’s handwriting and relishes hearing other people’s stories.
As a poet and occasional essayist, much of Franciszka’s current work focuses on planet Earth. Voeltz holds a deep reverence for the natural world and its inhabitants while also grieving the ongoing loss of species and their habitats. Franciszka is currently working on a poetry manuscript about water, which includes explorations in documentary poetry. Voeltz designs and produces paper goods, including typewritten poem notecards, collage postcards, zines, and envelopes.
